nathang valley |
Nathang which is known as the Ladakh of east Sikkim is situated at an altitude of 13,500feet above sea level. The local name of the valley is Gnathang valley. It is considered as one of the oldest and remotest Tibetian habitations in the eastern Himalayas. Nathang remains under snow from January to April. It keeps changing its color depending on the different time of the year. During autumn it turns into golden color as the grass dries up and in monsoons, it appears lush green and gets fully covered with different flowers. Similarly, during the winters it remains under 5 feet of snow.Nathang is a part of the old silk route which connects India with China. If you want to experience heaven on earth then you need to come here.
